What I Pinned {Wednesday}

Hi all! I hope you're having a great week so far, it's hump-day so at least we know we're halfway to the weekend! For this week's edition of "What I Pinned {Wednesday}" I'm sharing some pins from my "Green Living" board.

Like me, I know many of you out there are always looking for ways to leave less of a mark on the earth, live more self-sustained lifestyle, and maybe save some $$ along the way. Hopefully some of these links are helpful, and as an added bonus I've added a litte linky party below where you can add any "green living" tips or links that you would like to share with me!

If you link up some of your own tips and tricks for green living, I'll catalog them and put them all together for a very special "Green Living" series coming this Fall!

Here's what I have to share this week. If you'll notice, all these links are conveniently laid out like a road map to a successful, natural garden! (click the photos for pinterest-provided links):

DIY Winter Greenhouse for about $50
{great for leafy greens, and keeping a stock of fresh veggies through the winter!}

DIY Rain Collection Barrels
{because when you're in the middle of a huge drought, regular water just doesn't cut it}

35 DIY Pest, Disease and Weed Remedies
{to keep those plants and veggies bug-free, disease-free, and healthy!}

Web Resource for How to Can ANYTHING!
{so you'll get the most out of your garden or grocery trip}

Home made substitutes for your grocery store staples.
{because less time in the grocery store is always a plus... at least for this Momma!}

Kitchen Countertop Compost Collector
{no more stinky mess, and no more trips out to the compost bin after dark when it's 40 degrees out!}

And even though it has nothing to do with your garden, this is one of my favorites:

A Comprehensive List of DIY cleaners and solutions for your home!
{because don't you feel better knowing what your family is being exposed to? I do.}

Feel free to link up any of your "Green Living"
projects, ideas, recipes, or links below!

PLEASE, no unrelated posts, they'll just get deleted anyway. ;)

What I Pinned {Wednesday}

It may have been a couple of weeks since I've posted a "What I Pinned {Wednesday}," but rest assured I have still been pinning like crazy! Right now I'm kind of on a bathroom kick. I think it's because every time I'm in our bathroom I'm dreaming of ways to fix it up and make it more suitable to our my taste.

Our master bath has some seriously hideous wallpaper. Not just wallpaper, but floor-to-ceiling wallpaper AND a floral border. I know. It's all rose and hunter green, circa 1990's. But it has an amazingly huge (and deep!) garden tub, and plenty of room to play, so I'm on the hunt for some awesome inspiration. Here are some incredible bathrooms I've found and pinned recently.

{Click photos for links through Pinterest}

We won't be doing anything drastic like re-tiling or flooring, but I LOVE these colors and those scalloped tiles are absolutely incredible! Look at the detailing in the flooring!

I love the rustic feel of this bathroom. The barn wood covered wall and natural stone tub structure make me feel all earthy and cozy inside, haha! It's perfect with a little greenery, and white accents.

Speaking of earthy, check out this eclectic tiling pattern. It's so natural looking, and I just love the "randomness" of the pattern. P.S. I think the sink would be awesome in any bathroom!

Huge tub AND a fireplace? 'Nuff said...

Another "natural" bathroom... I love the open concept, and the pebble flooring with the stone walls would make me feel like I was showering in my waterfall again!

I love the contrast in this bathroom. The grey is stark but soft and the white allows the natural elements (the basket, wood bench, plants, etc.) in this room to stand out.

So far, I think this is my most realistic favorite. We wouldn't have to change too much, but it would give the bathroom a much needed facelift. The green is so fresh, and when coupled with the white it just brightens up the whole space.

What I Pinned {Wednesday}

I'm kind of liking this new little tradition I've started here on Wednesdays, so I think I'm going to keep it up! In case I haven't mentioned it before {um, like, a MILLION times...} I'm addicted to Pinterest. Since I've been lax on my blogging and etsy and everything else while we've been working on the new house, I take at least a little comfort in playing Pinterest and lurking all over blogland, haha!

Lately, I've been collecting doors and entryways. I'm not sure that I could ever choose just one style for my front door, but I have LOTS of ideas!! Check it out...

{this door reminds me of Rapunzel's window in Tangled... so pretty and ornate}

{gorgeous green door for a garden entry}

{lovely aqua door with amazing red climbing vines}

{pretty in pink, and such lovely detail in the glasswork}

{rustic purple-y goodness}

{this is such a stunning visual... would love to have a tree door!!}

{sweet little hidden nook... to wonderland, perhaps?}

Of course, there are tons more in my little door collection, but if I put them on this post, you guys would be snoozing halfway through, haha! Feel free to check it out here, or check out my whole page HERE. If you're not already on Pinterest, let me know and I'll send you an invite! Also, be sure to leave me your Pinterest name/link so I can follow what you're pinning!

I also want to send a huge shout out to everyone who left such wonderfully supportive and kind words on my post Friday afternoon, The Most UNEBELIEVEABLE Month of my Life {True Story}. You guys are the best. You are the reason I keep coming back for more, and I couldn't do it without you! So thanks a million... your wonderful comments mean so much to me!

ALSO!! In case you haven't noticed... The Little Birdie Baby Shop on etsy is now re-opened for business!! :) I've been working on updating my listings, getting things organized, and taking photos of my new merchandise to list for sale. I'll be working on things for the next few days, and have TONS of new stuff to add, so be sure to go check it out when you get a chance. :)

What I found {Wednesday!}

Ok, so I am really enjoying sharing my little pins with you guys. Being plugged into such a fun creative outlet is allowing me to find sites and blogs I probably never would have found otherwise. There's always something new to keep things fresh!

I'm hoping some of you northerners are finally getting some sunshine, as we are in the full swing of summer down south! This week's pins are all about enjoying that summertime outdoor living...

{Click photos for links}

{beautiful lakeside dinner party setting... sigh}

{who could argue with an outdoor tub when it looks as relaxing as this??!}

{sweet tea and cobbler at dusk}

{amazing use of the surrounding elements to make this pool au natural!}

{fun summer movie nights on the back lawn...}

{precious fairy swing!}

{and who says grown ups get to have all the fun? cute tee pees would be a dream...}

Hope you all are enjoying your summer...
wherever you are and whatever you're into!

Pinned {free!} Printables!

A few weeks ago I mentioned my newfound love for Pinterest... well, despite my ridiculously busy schedule these days I am still pinning like crazy. There is just no shortage of awesome on the web, and I feel like I need to capture it when I see it or I'll never find it again!

Today I wanted to share a few of my favorite wordy "pins" with you guys. I'm on the lookout for some fun new printables for my new bare-walled house. These pins are all of printables I've found recently that I love, and most of them are free! Yay!!

Happy printing!!

Have you heard??

I have to share this site with you all, and I'm sure many of you have heard the buzz around blog land already, but bear with me because I. AM. IN. LOVE.

Pinterest lets you bookmark all of your favorite things in one place, organize them effortlessly, and share them with your friends. Awesome, right?

I personally have been struggling with my bookmarks lately, as there are literally thousands of them, and not only are they difficult to keep organized, but they're also just text. My favorite thing about Pinterest is that it displays your bookmarks, or "pins," by photo so you can easily see what's what.

{Here's a snipit of my home page... pretty awesome!!}

Now, I'm not really sure how the whole sign up thing works at this point. But it seems that you have to have an "invitation" to come in and play. I'm not 100% sure on that, so don't quote me, but if you leave me your email address in a comment, I will happily invite you myself!! It sort of works like twitter, where you can see all the pins of someone you "follow" so you're always getting updates and fresh content.

BEWARE: you can seriously spend hours pinning all your favorite sites, projects, tutorials, products, etc. when you really should be packing since you're moving in 9 days... Um, yeah. So just be careful. ;)

Here's the link so you can check it out for yourself: {Pinterest} And here's the link to my pin board so you can see what I'm scouring up all over the web: {Rachael's Pinterest} Happy Pinning!!

XOXO

P.S. I was not asked or paid to endorse this site, I just loveitsomuch that I had to share it with you all!! :)
